Do I Qualify?

The Qualification Process

Qualifying to invest on Equivesto depends on a number of factors, including where you reside, your age, and your overall suitability to invest. Licensed Dealing Representatives at Equivesto Canada Inc. review the details you provide in your investor application forms to confirm your identity, verify your investor type, and provide you recommended limits to invest. See the full list of the information we ask for here.

Recommended Limits

All investments available on Equivesto are high risk, private investments.  Investors will not be able to sell their investments in the short/medium term, and because these investments are high risk, there is a chance you could lose your entire investment.   For that reason, we do not recommend that any investors invest greater than 25% of their net financial assets into this category of investment. Learn more about private investing risks here.

Legal Maximum

Depending on the legal framework (Prospectus Exemption) the company raising capital on Equivesto (the issuer) is using, the government has set strict maximum limits on how much each type of investor can invest. Based on your legal max and factors decided by the issuer, such as the minimum investment amount allowed, provincial regions where the offering is and isn’t available, types of investors the issuer is willing to accept, and the prospectus exemption used, you may not qualify for the specific investment you are interested in. It is important to review the issuers offering page for full details - browse offerings.*

*Full terms of the offering can be found in the Offering Terms section of each offering page (towards the bottom of the page).

See below a summary of the 3 main investor types and the potential max limits you may receive broken down into the 3 main raise categories on Equivesto: Equity Crowdfunding, Offering Memorandum, and Accredited Investor only. The limits mentioned are not guaranteed and your approval & recommended limits are subject to the Dealing Representative’s review of your investor profile.
